Viewing Panopto content
Navigate to the ‘Panopto’ link in the left hand menu
Within a module site, the Panopto link in the left hand menu will take you to the video content
available for that particular module. (Your tutor may also make video links available in other areas of
Blackboard too).
Select a video to watch
You can browse the main folder (and any sub folders) to find the video you would like to watch.
Clicking on the video will open Panopto in a new tab.
Navigating the video
Familiarise yourself with the video controls available. You can play/pause a video, scan through using
the progress bar, and easily rewind by 10 seconds if you miss something. You can also adjust the play
speed if you need to.
If you are watching a lecture capture, you may be able to navigate via the slide thumbnails at the
bottom of the screen.
Personalising a video
The tools in the top left corner allow you to personalise your viewing experience.
Search bar:
You can search for any word mentioned in the presentation or transcript and the results will show
with the corresponding timestamp.
Notes:
You can make notes on a video directly in Panopto, Your notes will be timestamped and synchronised
to the video content. You can keep these notes private, only visible to you, or you can collaborate on
notes with your peers and use shared channels to keep notes.
Bookmarks:
You can also add bookmarks to a video to highlight key points. These will allow you to jump back into
specific parts of the video to review the content.
