Preparing for your exams

Check your course learning outcomes

  • Go to your course information and find the learning outcomes – these should be clearly listed
  • Make sure you have achieved these
  • Assessments are designed to check learning outcomes, so if they don’t appear in your previous assignments, they are very likely to appear in the exam
  • Make sure you understand the terminology used, e.g., explain, analyse, synthesise

Student tips

Preparing for your exams

The best thing you can do is to give yourself enough time to prepare. Whether it’s a deadline or an exam you will need to do some preparation and leaving it until last minute is only going to add to the pressure.
