Responding using your device
This helpsheet details how you can respond to Poll Everywhere polls using a range of devices, either a mobile phone, tablet or laptop device. The only requirement is that your device is connected to the internet so that you can access the poll.
Accessing polls
- Your tutor will share a link for their poll page. It will likely be along the lines of: PollEv.com/TutorName
- You can access this page from any web browser on a phone, tablet or laptop.
- You may wish to bookmark this page so that you can easily access it again.
- You can access the tutor’s Poll Everywhere page before any polls are made live, a waiting screen will show. This screen will automatically update as soon as your tutor makes a question live, there is no need to refresh your screen.
Responding to polls
- There are various types of polls. Your tutor will give you guidance on how you should answer each question, and whether you have the option of changing your response after you have clicked an option.
- You may see multiple choice questions, images to click on, or lists to rank in a specific order by drag and drop.
- If you tutor uses a poll that requires a text based response you can type directly into the text box, considering that your response should be acceptable to share with the rest of the group.
- If the question allows; you can change your response to a poll by clicking the ‘Clear last response’ button, this allows you to input a new response.
Poll Everywhere App
You can download the free Poll Everywhere app from the AppStore/Google Play. This functions in a very similar way to accessing polls via the web, however it automatically saves your recent links.
