Active learning
This approach requires you to actively engage with your own learning. This means that you will be doing something active, participating in a session and reflecting on your experiences. This will help develop your own understanding through analysis, synthesis and evaluation. Active learning develops your autonomy and your ability to learn. It also gives you greater involvement and control over your learning compared to passive learning.
An active approach can be applied to all other types of learning. You should try to remain active and engaged in order to make the most of your learning opportunities.
Examples of active learning:
- Questioning
- Problem Solving Exercises
- Discussion / Interview Exercises / Debates
- Peer teaching
- Game based learning
